MCGs Mascotte and AI Assistant
Apie is the mascotte of MCG since 2022, joining our weekly meetings and supporting the team in moments of pressure, doubt, and ecstasy. From 2025/26 onward s/he (partly) replaces Mariëlle Baelemans (who was the p.a. for MCG for the last five years) in addressing frequently asked questions by students and the media.

The Music Cognition Group is part of the Department of Musicology, the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation, and Amsterdam Brain and Cognition of the University of Amsterdam.
